Citizens State Bank Participates in Tech Castings Ribbon Cutting
Airplane engine parts manufacturer Tech Castings celebrated the expansion of their facility in Shirley, IN. The project added 12,000 square feet to the facility, two industrial furnaces, along with pre- and post-cast processing equipment additions and upgrades. Overall, the expansion has more than doubled the company’s output capacity.
Jeff Lantz and his partners purchased Tech Castings in 2011, with little more than a neglected foundry with lapsed OEM approvals and a few dedicated long-tenured employees. They have worked hard to re-establish their brand in the aerospace industry. Today, they're the largest employer in the town of Shirley. Andy Ebbert, representing the town of Shirley, noted the Tech Castings' site was developed around 1890 and has hosted a variety of manufacturing facilities. "For a small town, industry not only creates jobs, it strengthens the community and supports families and the local activities that are here," noted Ebbert.
Citizens State Bank Relationship Manager Elliott Somers stated, “Our mission is to help our clients, co-workers, and communities succeed, and this project is a perfect example. We've been working with Jeff Lantz and his team to get this project approved and over the finish line. This expansion benefits Tech Castings, and that growth will result in more economic opportunities for the community and its residents.”
U.S. Senator Todd Young, R-Indiana, attended the celebration and noted the goods and services the facility provides to the nation’s defense sector. “They’re teaming up with the likes of Rolls-Royce and other aerospace companies outfitting our war fighters. So we are finding a way right here in Shirley, IN to ensure that people can take care of their families and grow prosperous at the very time we defend our values,” Young said.
